The Caldwell County Football Hall of Fame will celebrate its Class of 2019 during Friday night’s home game against Mayfield.
Kickoff is at 7 p.m. at Tiger Stadium in Princeton.
The newest Hall of Famers will be recognized in a halftime ceremony.
The 2019 Hall of Fame class features quarterbacks Will Barnes, Marc Kanipe and Cameron Williams, linemen Bob Hudson and Chad Lane, and longtime statistician Gary Goodaker.
Here is a look at the Caldwell County Hall of Fame Class of 2019:
WILL BARNES
Will Barnes was a three-year starter at quarterback after moving from Daviess County to Caldwell County when his father, David, was named head coach of the Tigers in 2006.
Barnes held most all of Caldwell’s passing records after his senior season in 2008. He is still third on the career passing list with 5,991 yards. That trails only Elijah Sindelar, who is now a quarterback at Purdue University, and Shane Burns, who is now a pitcher on the baseball team at Murray State University. Barnes is also third on the touchdown passes list with 62.
Barnes still holds the Caldwell record for TD passes in one game with seven in a win over Reidland in 2008.
Barnes, a 2009 graduate of CCHS, went on to play college football at Kentucky Wesleyan College. He is currently an assistant coach on the Tiger football team.
GARY GOODAKER
Gary Goodaker has been the Tigers’ main statistician since 1997.
Goodaker kept Caldwell’s stats for the state championship team in 1998 and the state runner-up squad in 2012.
Goodaker, a 1991 graduate of Caldwell County High School, will be keeping stats for his 267th straight game this Friday night.
Goodaker’s oldest son, Adam, is a Caldwell grad and a former Tiger football player.
Goodaker has two sons currently at CCHS — Andrew and Ben. Ben is a member of the Tiger baseball program.
BOB HUDSON
Bob Hudson was a standout lineman on both sides of the ball for strong Caldwell County football teams in the 1990s.
Hudson was named second-team all-state offensive lineman as a senior in 1997 as the Tigers went 9-3. As a junior, Hudson received all-state honorable mention on the offensive line as Caldwell posted a 9-3 record that season as well.
Hudson, a 1998 graduate of CCHS, played college football at Murray State University.
MARC KANIPE
Marc Kanipe was the starting quarterback on Caldwell County’s 1990 squad, which produced a 9-2 record. The Tigers’ only losses that season came against Fort Campbell and Mayfield.
Kanipe was also an outstanding safety for the Tigers and handled the punting duties.
Kanipe has remained a strong supporter of the Caldwell football program through the years.
After graduating from Caldwell County High School in 1991, Kanipe played football at Centre College.
CHAD LANE
Chad Lane was a standout lineman for Caldwell County on both offense and defense and also kicked for the Tigers.
As a junior, Lane was a starter on Caldwell’s 1991 squad, which finished the season 9-3.
After graduating from Caldwell County HIgh School in 1993, Lane played college football at Campbellsville University.
CAMERON WILLIAMS
Cameron Williams was a standout quarterback, running back, wide receiver and defensive back for the Tigers.
Williams shares the single-game receptions record at Caldwell with Zach Gaither.
Williams made 13 grabs in a win over Webster County in 2006.
Williams tied a Caldwell record with six touchdowns — three receiving, two rushing and one punt return — in a win over Crittenden County in 2006. Only Jaylen Boyd, currently playing at Lindsey Wilson College, has scored more touchdowns in one game as a Tiger, recording eight in a win at Calloway County in 2011.
Williams is still third on Caldwell’s single-season receptions list with 61 in 2006. His 837 yards receiving in 2006 set a Tiger reocrd at the time and is now seventh on Caldwell’s single-season list. He was a second-team all-state selection as a senior in 2006.
Williams, a 2007 graduate of Caldwell County High School, played college football at Missouri S&T.
