Playing without injured point guard Kinley Deason, the Heritage Christian Academy girls’ basketball team was plagued by turnovers in a 42-25 loss to visiting North Hardin Christian School on Thursday night. The Lady Warriors slip to 2-6 with the loss, while the Falcons win their second-straight after their first loss of the season to improve to 5-1 overall.
North Hardin jumped ahead early, but the Lady Warriors were back within 3 points at 13-10 after an Abbi Bullock steal and score and only trailed 14-10 after the first quarter.
HCA went cold in the second, with an Ashton Craft jumper the only points of the quarter. The Falcons outscored the Lady Warriors by 9 and took a 25-12 advantage to the locker room at halftime.
Sloppiness with the ball continued to hinder the Lady Warriors in the second half, limiting them to 5 points in the third and 8 in the fourth. Lauren Thompson outscored HCA on her own with 7 points in the third, and North Hardin cruised in for the 17-point win.
Bullocks’ 10 points led the Lady Warriors, followed by Craft with 9. Julia Allen led all scorers with 14 for the Falcons, joined in double figures by Thompson with 13.
