Maroons Pick Up Win #19 Cruising Past Red Devils

Madisonville got a big game from senior Kenny White Tuesday night, as the Maroons went on the road to Owensboro and came away with a 82-69 win over the Red Devils. White finished the game with 31 points, as the Maroons improved to 19-3 on the season.

Early on, the two teams were engaged in a tight battle. The Red Devils jumped out to an early 6-2 lead, only to see Madisonville roar right back to take a 13-10 lead. The Maroons would hold a 21-19 lead after the opening quarter.

It began to look like the Maroons might pull away from the Red Devils in the 2nd quarter. Madisonville pushed the margin out to 31-24 just three minutes into the second quarter. By halftime, Madisonville was up by 11 at 43-32 and looked to be set to cruise on out in the second half.

Madisonville continued their roll early in the third quarter, extending the lead to as many as 16 points in the opening moments of the quarter. The lead was still at double digits, 63-51, when the quarter came to an end.

Owensboro could never mount a serious charge in the final quarter. The Red Devils would get the margin down to nine points, but the Maroons were able to push their way on through to the 13 point win.

White’s 31 points led the way for Madisonville. Ksuan Casey added 18 points. Marquise Parker finished with 13, while Deljuan Johnson also hit double figures with 10.

Madisonville returns to action Friday night on the road at Union County.
