Caldwell County High School junior Morgan McDaniels has been selected to take part in the Governor’s Scholars Program this summer.
McDaniels had 12 goals and two assists last fall to help the Lady Tiger soccer team go 12-8-2.
She scored 3.0 points a game and had 2.8 rebounds a contest to help the Lady Tiger basketball team record a winning season at 16-15.
The Governor’s Scholars Program was established in 1983 and provides academic and personal growth through the balance of a strong liberal arts program with a full co-curricular and residential life experience at one of several college campuses in the state.
Students looking to be a part of the program must complete an application and compete with others from across the state. Those selected attend the five-week program free of charge.
