Trigg County High School and Caldwell County High School took the winner and runner-up positions in the 2020 YourSportsEdge.Com/First Financial Bank Wrestling “Fan Faves.”
For the third year in a row, Trigg County’s Colin Stevens was the top vote getter in the category. The Trigg County senior goes into the record books as the most decorated Wildcat wrestler in school history. Stevens lost to Union County’s Steven Little 4-2 in sudden death overtime in the 2020 championship of the 170-pound class State Wrestling tournament.
He finished his senior season with a 43-3 record – all three losses to Little. Stevens has reached the metal podium four times in his five trips to the state tourney.
Caldwell County’s Collin Teutsch finished as the runner-up this year in the voting. Teutsch made his first trip to the medal podium for Caldwell County at the 2020 state wrestling tournament. The freshman finished sixth in the 106-pound class, falling to Wayne County’s Colin Tucker 4-2. Teutsch had advanced to the state meet after knocking off Christian County’s JaRi Campbell in the 106lb. final at the Region 1 wrestling meet.
