James Folz shot a 3-over 74 to win the GO Junior Golf Series Southern Championship Thursday at the Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club.
The Hopkinsville senior began his day on the back nine and shot a 2-over 38. He finished at 1-over on the front nine to finish three shots ahead of Jiles Wyatt.
The University Heights Academy senior shot a 6-over 77, including a 1-under 35 on the back nine.
Evan Pyle and Micah Smith both shot a 9-over 80 to finish fourth for third place, two shots behind Kaleb Adams of Madisonville. Will Binkley and Ty Butts each shot an 82.
Madisonville’s Aaron Munger shot an 83 on the day but secured enough points to win the Southern Series tour championship, while Smith, who will be a senior at Christian County this fall, was the tour runner-up in the points race.
