Russ Cochran grew up playing golf at Paxton Park in Paducah, using it as a springboard to a college career at the University of Kentucky and later a pro career on the PGA Tour and Champions Tour.
Cochran followed a first-round 75 with a 1-under 70 Sunday at the 84th edition of the Irvin Cobb Championships. The event made news when Caldwell County native and LPGA Pro Emma Talley became the first female to play in the tourney.
Cochran talked about the impact of Talley playing in the event and what his future holds in professional golf.
