Madisonville-North Hopkins’ Katelyn Zieba continued her solid play on the golf course Monday. Playing in the 19th annual Lady Scottie Golf Invitational, at the Willow Oaks Golf Course, in Glasgow, Zieba carded a 78 for the round.
That score tied Zieba for 4th place in the event. She tied with Savannah Howell, of Marshall County, and Faith Martin, of South Warren. Marshall County’s 7th grader Trinity Beth ran away from the field, shooting a 69 to claim medalist honors. Glasgow’s Abbie Lee finished in 2nd place, six shots back at 75.
As a team, the Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons shot a team score of 379, putting them in 8th place, one shot back of Barren County.
Marshall County easily won the girls’ title, finishing with a score of 307, 18 shots better than South Warren. Glasgow finished 3rd at 329.
