Lady Storm Rally to Get Past Trigg County

lyons-win-2

The Trigg County Lady Wildcats volleyball team got off to a good start Monday night, but just could not keep that momentum going. The Lady Wildcats won the first set, but saw Hopkins Central “storm” back to take the next three in a four set loss at Mortons Gap.

The Lady Wildcats had the early control in the match, winning the opening set 25-19. The Lady Storm, however, rebounded quickly, taking the second set 25-16.

That momentum continued on for Hopkins Central, as the Lady Storm took control of the match by taking the third set 25-19.

Trigg County tried to pull of a rally of their own in the 4th set in an effort to force a deciding 5th set. But, Hopkins Central was able to hold the Lady Wildcats at arms length, winning the 4th set 25-21 to close out the match.

Trigg County falls to 1-6 with the loss. The Lady Wildcats get back to action Tuesday night when they host Murray.

Hopkins County Central improves to 2-6 on the year. The Lady Storm face a Tuesday night home district match against Caldwell County.
