The Caldwell County volleyball team was scheduled to host Marshall County Tuesday night in what head coach Daniel Cortner had labeled Senior Night 2.0.
However, Marshall was unable to make the trip due to a COVID situation, leaving Caldwell without a match as of noon Tuesday. But Cortner went to work trying to find a replacement, ultimately landing a home date with Paducah Tilghman early Tuesday afternoon.
It’s a situation a lot of schools have faced this fall as teams have to work within COVID guidelines.
Cortner talks about trying to pick up a game at the last minute in this YSE interview.
