When they meet Tuesday night, the stakes will be a bit higher. The Trigg County Lady Wildcats volleyball team made the journey down to Smithland Thursday night to take on Livingston Central in the final regular season matchup for both teams.
Trigg County and Livingston Central will also meet Tuesday evening in a semifinal matchup in the 5th District volleyball tournament.
Thursday night it was all Lady Cardinals, as Livingston Central swept its way to a straight set win over the Lady Wildcats. The Lady Cardinals won the first and second sets by identical 25-17 scores to take a two to nothing set lead in the match.
Trigg County battled in the third set, as the Lady Wildcats tried to extend the match into a fourth set. However, Livingston Central was able to hold on to close out the match, taking the set 25-23.
The loss dropped Trigg County to 1-12 on the season. Livingston Central improved to 3-9.
The two teams will meet Tuesday night in Smithland at 5:00pm with the winner to take on Crittenden County in the district championship game at 7:30.
