A district runner-up in the 4th Region volleyball landscape can’t expect a good draw when it comes time to lay out the brackets for the region tournament. Todd County Central knew that coming into Thursday’s virtual draw meeting.
The Lady Rebels will open the tournament Monday against two-time defending region champion Greenwood. Monday’s game will be at 5:30 at Russell County High School, which is 133 miles from Elkton.
Todd County [10-11] will be making its second straight region tournament appearance after finishing as 13th District runner-up.
Greenwood has reached the region title match six straight seasons and took home the championships each of the past two seasons. The Lady Gators are 8-6 on the season and 7-0 against region opponents.
Monday’s match will be the first-ever between the two schools in volleyball.
The other quarterfinal matchups feature Allen County-Scottsville vs. Russell County; Logan County vs. Barren County; and Bowling Green vs. Clinton County.
