Practices and any competitions in those sports has to stop immediately, and remain on hold until that date, according to the Governor’s order. Justice cited rising COVID cases in that state as the reason for the stoppage.

The report goes on to note that the West Virginia Secondary Schools Activities Commission previously announced modifications to winter sports in October, and that those changed would remain in place when winter sports get rolling again.

Fall sports, such as volleyball and football, will be able to finish their postseasons in West Virginia.
