The Bowling Green Country Club was the first stop in western Kentucky for the Kentucky PGA Junior Tour with the first Emma Talley Girls Tradition.
Knoxville golfer Lexanne Halama, who has signed with the University of Illinois, shot 1-under-par in both rounds to finish a 2-under and beat Raegan Propes of Daniel Island, South Carolina by six shots. Anne-Lea Lavoie of Quebec, Canada was third at 6-over.
Marshall County junior Savannah Howell finished fourth at 7-over. She shot a 2-over 73 thanks to three birdies on Saturday. She finished Sunday with a 78.
Madisonville junior Kaitlyn Zieba finished in 11th place at 14-over. She improved from Saturday’s round of 80 with a 6-over 78 Sunday.
Lyon County sophomore Cathryn Brown tied for 12th place with a two-day score of 16-over. As has been her pattern this year, Brown improved on the second day of the tournament. She shot an 83 on day one and improved to a 5-over 77 Sunday with 14 pars.
Marshall County junior Megan Hertter finished in 17th place with a two-day total of 19-over which included a 79 on Sunday.
Ellie West, a junior at Graves County, improved four shots from Saturday’s first round and tied for 20th at 22-over par. West’s round on Sunday included three birdies.
St. Mary sophomore Ellie Roof showed the biggest improvement on the second day, improving 15 shots to shoot an 82 Sunday. She finished 29th.
Madisonville freshman Karra Tucker had a five-shot improvement Sunday and finished in 30th place.
The par 72 course played at 5,950 yards for the Bell National Division.
The tournament is part of the Kentucky PGA Junior Tour and the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour.
