Region top seed Victoria Lopez Rodriguez made quick work of her two opponents on the first day of the Region 2 Tennis Tournament Monday in Henderson.
The Fort Campbell junior didn’t drop a game in her two matches as she moved on to Tuesday’s semifinals.
She defeated Christian County’s Anna Maddux 6-0, 6-0 in the opener, and Caldwell County’s Josie Shaffer 6-0, 6-0 in the second round. She will play Henderson County junior Kendall Warren in the semifinals. Warren upset o. 3 seed Abby Moss of Hopkinsville 7-5, 6-3 in the quarterfinals.
Lauren Anderson was taken down by No. 4 seed Zoe Lawrence of Henderson County 6-0, 6-0.
In doubles action, seventh-graders Isabella Aragon Espinoza and Matilda Thompson lost to the Lyon County duo of Emmy Slaton and Katie Ladd 6-4, 6-0.
