St. Mary junior Ellie Roof continued her strong play on the Bluegrass Junior Golf Series with her third straight top-3 finish Thursday at the Bluegrass Junior and College Amateur in Lexington.
Roof went out with a 38 and came in with an even-par 36 at the University Club Blue course. She had four birdies and finished at 2-over par, four shots behind the winner Isabella Wiley of Bagdad.
Glasgow’s Nina McMurtrey and Madisonville’s Kaitlyn Zieba tied for third place at 5-over.
Roof won the BGT stop on June 7 at the Bowling Green Country Club and was second two days later at Paxton Park.
