Three Madisonville North-Hopkins High School golfers finished in the top 11 at the Bluegrass Golf Tour’s Bluegrass Junior and College Amateur Thursday at the University Club’s Big Blue Course in Lexington.
Upcoming senior Kaitlyn Zieba shot a 5-over 77 to finish tied with Glasgow’s Nina McMurtrey for third place. Zieba was a par machine with 15 in the round. She had two bogeys and one triple-bogey on her card.
Sophomore Karra Tucker finished in sixth place at 8-over. She went out with a 1-over 37 but struggled a bit on the back nine with seven bogeys to come in at 43.
Senior Katherine Weir shot a 12-over 84 to finish tied for 11th place. Two bad holes on the front nine saw her go out with a 44. She found her footing a bit on the back nine with a 40.
Isabella Wiley of Bagdad won the event with a 2-under 70 to finish two shots ahead of second-place Ellie Roof of Paducah.
