Cate Blane went under par to win the Christian County Invitational Friday at Western Hill Golf Course.
The Hopkinsville freshman shot a 2-under 70 to beat teammate Anna Fort by five shots. Blane went out in 38 but shot par on the first three holes of the back nine. She made an eagle on the par-5 13th hole and followed with a birdie to move to 1-under.
Blane shot par on the next four holes and finished with a birdie on No. 18 to shoot the best round of her high school career.
Fort’s round of 75 was also a personal best. She shot 2-under on the back nine that included an eagle on the par-5 13th hole.
Anna Blane shot a 97 and made an 11-shot improvement on the back nine compared to the front.
Hopkinsville only fielded three golfers and didn’t have the four required for a team score.
