Former State Champ Takes Over Trigg County Golf Program

Trigg County High School has turned to a former state golf champion to take over the leadership of the Wildcat golf program. School officials announced Tuesday that Travis Thompson had been selected to be the new boys and girls golf coach.

Thompson has previously served as head coach at Carlisle County.

He was an accomplished high school golfer at Marshall County, where he won the boys’ state golf championship in 2007 and was named Mr. Kentucky Golf. He finished as the boys’ state runner-up in 2008. Thompson played collegiately at Murray State University.
