After seeing the start of their 2021 season delayed to COVID-19 protocols, and then a rainout over the weekend, the Hopkinsville Tigers finally got to take to the pitch Thursday evening. The Tigers traveled to Muhlenberg County to take on the Mustangs in an inter-region matchup.
Muhlenberg came into the match with a 2-0 record against 2nd Region teams, and the Mustangs kept that mark unblemished with a 5-1 win over the Tigers. The win marked the fifth time this season that the Mustangs have given up one goal or fewer in a match.
The Tigers open the season at 0-1. They are scheduled to return to action Tuesday evening when they host University Heights at the Stadium of Champions. The match is set to get underway at 7:00pm.
