The Fort Campbell Lady Falcons broke through into the win column Thursday night. The Lady Falcons used a 4 goal first half to seize control of the match and rolled on to a 5-1 win over Todd County Central in Elkton.

During the opening half, the Lady Falcons controlled the flow of play and time of possession. Fort Campbell would go on to outshoot the Lady Rebels 10-5 in the opening 40 minutes.

Anna Allen got Fort Campbell on the board at 12:30 when she used her body to deflect a corner kick into the net to give the Lady Falcons the early 1-0 lead. Abigail Eastes scored two goals in the first half for the Lady Falcons, one on a direct kick and the other on a rocket shot from about 30 yards out. Keelin Gray scored on a run down the middle to wrap up the first-half scoring.

The Lady Rebels played more evenly with the Lady Falcons in the second half, but could not find a way to dig out of the first-half hole.

Melanie Chamberlaine got Todd Central on the board when she scored a penalty kick at 53:10 to cut the lead to 4-1. But, Anna Allen shut the door on any potential second-half rally when she spun in front of the goal and drilled a left-footed shot to push the lead back out to 5-1.

The shots on goal in the second half were even at 7-7. For the night, Fort Campbell outshot Todd County Central 17 to 12.

The win moves Fort Campbell to 1-3-1 on the year. They are scheduled to host Fort Knox Saturday on post.

Todd Central falls to 1-7-1. The Lady Rebels travel to Bowling Green Saturday to take on Warren Central.
