Despite the return of a large senior class from a team that advanced to the state tournament last year, Hopkinsville is ranked just 14th in the preseason Maher boys’ soccer rankings released Monday.
Defending state champion Daviess County, who eliminated the Tigers in the state tournament last year, opens the season ranked number one. South Warren is seventh in the rankings, which began in 2010.
Hopkinsville opens their season Tuesday at home against Fort Campbell.
