The Todd County Central Lady Rebels volleyball team ventured northward Saturday to take on a pair of the 3rd Region’s best volleyball teams. The Lady Rebels traveled to Owensboro Catholic to take on the Lady Aces and the Breckinridge County Lady Tigers.
Todd Central began their day taking on Breckinridge County. Early on it looked as if the Lady Tigers would steamroll their way to a win. Breckinridge County took the first two sets 25-18 and 25-14 to go up 2-0 in the match.
The Lady Rebels rebounded to take the third set 25-21 to cut the lead to two sets to one. Todd Central would then push the Lady Tigers to the limit in the fourth set before the Lady Tigers took a 25-23 win to close out the match three sets to one.
Lucy Chester had 12 kills in the match, while Lanie Bivins added 8, along with three aces. Addileigh Wofford finished the match with 17 assists.
In the match against Owensboro Catholic, the Lady Rebels stood toe-to-toe early with the Lady Aces. Catholic finally took the opening set 27-25. From there, the day belonged to the Lady Aces. O-Cath took the next two sets 25-19 and 25-17 to complete the three-set sweep.
Lucy Chester had 10 kills in the match. Lanie Bivins added seven more. Addileigh Wofford had another big match with 18 assists.
Todd Central drops to 13-7 with the two losses. The Lady Rebels return to action Monday evening when they host Russellville.
