The Caldwell County boys’ soccer team recorded its first 7th District win of the season, prevailing 3-2 in a penalty shootout at Hopkins County Central. The Tigers, ranked 11th in the YourSportsEdge.com 2nd Region rankings, stop a 4 game slide while the 10th ranked Storm slip to 4-5-1.
Both of Caldwell’s goals in regulation were scored by sophomore forward Cody Holub and assisted by junior forward Collin Shaffer. After two scoreless overtime periods the penalty shootout came down to the last kick, with the Tigers winning 3-2. Tiger goalie Barrett Schultz especially shined in the overtime and shootout.
The Tigers travel to Madisonville on Thursday for another 7th District showdown, facing off with the 4-5-1 Maroons.
