Colonels Pick Up Win in Final Tourney Game

The Christian County boys’ basketball team lost its first two games at the Poplar Bluff Showdown, but beat Bradley Tech (Milwaukee), WI 67-34 on Friday in its final game of 2017.  With the win, the Colonels move to 9-3 on the season.

The Colonels did most of their damage in the first half, scoring 27 and 21 points in the first two quarters.  Senior forward Detorrion Ware led the Colonels with 25 first-half points, followed by junior forward Eric Brody’s 8.

The Colonels only needed 19 second-half points to finish things off, winning easily 67-34.  Ware added one second-half basket to his first-half total to lead the team with 27 points.  Brody and senior guard Jordan Johnson both had 8, and senior forward Kolbe Langhi scored 6.  Senior forward Jaquon Long and junior forward Fred Tandy scored 5 each, with junior guard DT Babb chipping in 4, and sophomore guard Damikeon Mathis and sophomore Shay Stowe both adding a basket.

The Colonels get things started after the New Year in a big way when they travel to Paducah to face the 10-3 McCracken County Mustangs on January 5th.
