Some nights things go your way, others it just doesn’t work out. The latter was the case Saturday night for the Caldwell County Lady Tigers. The Crittenden County Lady Rockets picked up their biggest win of the season, going into the CAB and picking up the win by the score of 51-43. Crittenden County’s win avenges a six point loss to the Lady Tigers earlier this season in Marion.
The game was a tight battle early. With Bella McConnell having a big first quarter with 8 points, the Lady Tigers battled the Lady Rockets to a 14-14 tie. Crittenden County took control of the game in the second quarter, outscoring Caldwell County 13-7 to take a 27-21 lead at the break.
The Lady Rockets and the Lady Tigers went back and forth during the 3rd quarter. Crittenden County would outscored the Lady Tigers 14 to 13 in the quarter to move the lead out to 41-34.
In the final quarter, Caldwell County made a push to get back in the game. With 1:35 to go, the Lady Tigers were within four points at 47-43, but the Lady Rockets scored the final four points of the game to seal the win.
Caldwell County was led by Bella McConnell with 16 points. Jacey Jaggers added 9, while Peyton Young scored 8.
The loss, which is Caldwell County’s third in its last five games, drops the Lady Tigers to 11-7, while the Lady Rockets improve to 10-10.
