Warriors Snap Losing Skid With Homecoming Win

2-3-jones

Heritage Christian Academy got their first win for Coach Matt McGowan Saturday as they beat West Academy of Tennessee 59-49 at Warrior Gym.

HCA knocked down seven 3-pointers in the contest as they built a 32-24 lead by halftime. West Academy made a run in the third quarter, but HCA came up with some key stops to hold off the challenge.

Dalton Folz and Gavin Fowler each scored 13 points for the Warriors, while Austin Crawford scored seven of his 12 points in the first quarter. Josh Jones added six points.

Seth Hasley and Jireh Johnson both scored 15 points for West Academy.

The win is the first since the resignation of Coach Daryl Hallmark on Jan 26. McGowan, who also serves as the girls’ coach at HCA, was named to coach the boys’ team for the remainder of the season.

HCA improves to 10-12 with the win and will host Glasgow Christian Tuesday at Warrior Gym.
