Calista Collins continued her torrid start to the softball season with three hits and four runs batted in as Lyon County picked up an 8-4 road win at Graves County Friday.
The freshman shortstop had a two-run single as part of a four-run second inning and added another two-run single during a three-run sixth inning.
Collins doubled and scored on a single by Kaelyn Conger in the first inning. Kyra Craft added an RBI double in the second inning as the Lady Lyons built a 5-0 lead.
Graves County (2-1) scored single runs in the third and fourth inning and scored twice in the fifth to cut their deficit to 5-4.
Sophie Bingham doubled in the sixth ahead of a Sydney Melton single. Both scored on a Collins hit.
In addition to Collins, Conger had three hits as part of a 13-hit night for the Lady Lyons. Melton and Tori Schenk each had a pair of hits.
Bingham picked up the win in the circle with eight strikeouts and seven hits allowed. Only one of the four runs was earned.
Lyon County (2-2) will play a pair of ranked teams Saturday at Christian County. They will play No. 11 Woodford County at 1pm and No. 9 Christian County at 3pm.
