Hopkinsville Limited to One Run in Loss to Ohio County (w/PHOTOS)

For the second game in a row, the Hopkinsville Tigers struggled to get runs on the board Friday evening. The Tigers lost their second straight, this time falling 8-1 to Ohio County.

The Eagles got enough runs to win the game in the top of the first inning. Ohio County used two singles and a triple to plate two runs in the inning, Ohio County scored an unearned run in the top of the 4th inning to then extend the lead to 3-0.

The Eagles got a leadoff triple and a sac fly in the top of the 6th to make it a 4-0 game. Hopkinsville would get that run back in the bottom of the inning on an RBI single by L Jorgensen to make it a 4-1 game headed into the final inning.

Ohio County put the game away in the top of the 7th, scoring four runs to seal the win

Layne Jorgensen was 1-3 and drove in Hoptown’s only run of the game. Dalton Bearns was 1-2 and scored Hopkinsville’s lone run. The Tigers scored their one run on seven hits. Ball security was a problem, as the Tigers committed five errors in the game.

Hopkinsville dropped to 7-9 on the season.
