Trigg’s Reynolds Qualifies For State Golf Tourney

Trigg County freshman Hunter Reynolds shot a 77 at the 1st Region golf tournament at Paxton Park in Paducah on Thursday.  Reynolds finished 6th and qualified for the Leachman Buick-GMC-Cadillac/KHSAA State Golf Championships, while also helping the Wildcats to a 4th-place team finish.  Reynolds becomes the first Trigg golfer to qualify for the state tournament since Carter Sholar in 2014.

Senior Caleb Federspeil turned in an 87 for the Wildcats, followed by sophomore Grayson Thomas with an 83.  Senior Darrin Goodwin finished with an 87 and freshman Ty Butts shot a 90.

The Wildcats’ total of 329 trailed on Marshall County (305), McCracken County (323) and Mayfield (325).
