
The Trigg County volleyball team went 2-3 at the Toyota of Hopkinsville Western Kentucky Smack Down this weekend. The Lady Wildcats didn’t win a game in any of their first three matches, but turned it around to win their last two matches, including the Copper Championship.
On Friday night, Trigg County lost 2-0 (25-11, 25-10) to Logan County (17-14) and fell 2-0 (25-21, 25-20) to Hopkins County Central (17-12). Saturday began with a 2-0 (25-23, 25-20) loss to Paducah Tilghman, but the Lady Wildcats won their next match 2-0 (25-10, 25-22) over Valley (5-26), setting up the championship match with the Murray High Lady Tigers (10-20). Trigg County won 2-0 (25-14, 25-20), not dropping a game over their last two matches.
The Lady Wildcats get the postseason underway on Thursday when they face Crittenden County (3-14) in the 5th District Tournament at Livingston County High School.
