Emma Talley got to 8-under par at the LPGA Tour’s Volunteers of America Classic on Friday, but dropped three shots over her final four holes to fall back to 5-under.
Talley got in only eight holes in the second round before play was suspended by darkness. Play will resume at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday at Old American Golf Club at The Colony near Dallas, Texas.
Storms earlier in the day delayed action, with Talley’s 12:20 tee time on Friday pushed back to 6:20.
Once on the course, she got off to a hot start, with a birdie on her first hole, the par-4 10th, and another birdie on the par-4 12th. But a double bogey on No. 14 and a bogey on No. 16 dropped her back into a tie for ninth place after starting the day in a tie for fourth.
Talley is now five shots off the pace set by Matilda Castren of Finland. Castren finished her second round on Friday and is at 10-under overall. Jeongeun Lee6 also finished and is 8-under. Jin Young Ko is also 8-under, but played just four holes on Friday.
