As the 2018 football season winds down for the Kentucky Wildcats, bowl predictions are beginning to heat up. With a 8-3 record heading into their regular season finale against the Louisville Cardinals, the jury remains out on the quality of Kentucky’s bowl game.

However, if the season ended today, many believe a much-improved Kentucky team from last season would make their appearance in the Citrus Bowl. The Citrus Bowl isn’t the highlight of the prediction, though, as that’s more fixated on who would most likely be UK’s opponent.

CBS Sports, College Football News, ESPN’s Kyle Bonagura, NBC Sports and the Orlando Sentinel have all predicted Kentucky to play for the Citrus Bowl in a rematch against the Northwestern Wildcats.

In last season’s bowl game, the two schools met in the Music City Bowl that was decided by a score of 24-23. It’s also known as the game of which Benny Snell was blatantly tossed on one of the more questionable judgement calls throughout all of last season.

There are many situations regarding the Big Ten that could effect who Kentucky plays, such as the results from Saturday’s games as well as how Northwestern fares in their conference championship game on December 1st.

Kentucky can elevate their status, too, with a signature win over their arch rival Cardinals. However, a loss could knock them back as far as the Belk Bowl.

As this weekend’s games unfold, the bowl-game picture will become much clearer.
