Christian County All-Region guard Aaliyah Hampton has committed to continuing her basketball career at Berea College and will sign with the school Friday. Hampton made the announcement on social media over the weekend.
Hampton averaged 18.3 points a game to lead the Lady Colonels while shooting 45-percent from the field and 68-percent at the free throw line. She also averaged 5.1 rebounds per game.
She was named All-District and All-Region in both her junior and senior seasons and was named All-State Honorable Mention by the Lexington Herald-Leader after her senior season. Hampton scored over 1,000 points in her high school career.
Berea is an NCAA Division III school that competes in the USA South Conference where they lost to Piedmont College in the conference championship this year. The Mountaineers were 22-6 under Coach Trent Milby, who previously coached Makayla Epps and Marion County to an unbeaten season and Kentucky state championship. Former Murray State Racer Jeffrey McClain is also on the Berea coaching staff.
