Appearing in the All-A Classic State Golf Tournament for the second straight year, the girls’ team at University Heights Academy brought home an eighth-place finish Saturday at the Arlington Golf Club in Richmond.
Rheagan Lindsey was UHA’s top finisher with a round of 97, which was good for 42nd place. After a tough front nine, Lindsey rebounded to shoot a 45 on the back nine.
Rheagan’s sister Conlee finished one shot back with a round of 98, which put her at 44th place on the leaderboard. Lexie Johnson (+44) finished 66th, Jessah Hayden (+55) finished in 77th place, and Riley Johnson (+61) came in 82nd place.
Lexington Christian Academy’s Laney Frye easily took medalist honors with a 6-under par 66, winning by six shots over teammate Delia Gibbs. Murray’s Mary Howell (+3) was fifth, and Crittenden County’s Lauren Gilchrist (+6) was tenth.
