While it was a loss, it is a sign of the improvement being made by the Todd County Central volleyball team. Last season, the Lady Rebels were swept in three sets twice by the Muhlenberg County Lady Mustangs.

Thursday night, Todd County Central very nearly picked up a big road win on the Lady Mustangs home court. Muhlenberg County was able to get the win, but had to fight through five hard sets to take down the Lady Rebels.

The first set gave indication of what kind of night it was going to be, as Muhlenberg County won the set 25-22 to take a 1-0 lead.

The Lady Rebels rebounded in strong fashion, coming back to take a 252-22 win of their own in the second set to even things up at one set apiece.

The Lady Mustangs bounced back in the 3rd set, winning 25-20 to go up 2-1 in the match.

Once again, Todd County Central fought back, and staved off defeat, winning an intense fourth set 27-25.

The 5th and deciding set was just like the one before it, as the teams had to go extra to decide the contest. Muhlenberg County was finally able to take the set 21-19, and close out the match three sets to two.

Todd County Central falls to 2-2 with the loss, and will return to action Tuesday on the road at Franklin-Simpson.
