Clutch free throw shooting from KyKy Tandy and the rest of his Xavier teammates help the Musketeers hold off a pesky Eastern Kentucky team 99-96 in overtime Monday night. The Colonels hit a three pointer at the buzzer in regulation to force the overtime period, where Xavier was able to squeeze out the three point win.
Tandy hit two clutch free throws with 1.1 seconds left in overtime to help secure the win.
Tandy, who struggled a bit from the field, was big time at the free throw line. The University Heights Academy grad nailed 11-13 free throws on his way to an 18 point night. He added three assists and one rebound to his stat line for the game.
Through the first four games of the season, Tandy is now averaging 16 points per game. He is shooting 40 percent behind the 3-point line, and shooting nearly 82 percent at the free throw line
