Trigg County is searching for a new volleyball coach following the resignation of Doug Hargrove after five seasons.
Hargrove resigned Friday, telling TCHS Athletic Director Matt Wilder “it was time.”
Hargrove was 46-99 in five seasons as Lady Wildcats head coach. Trigg won district titles in his first two seasons as coach and followed that with a district runner-up finish in 2018.
However, the fortunes changed quickly as the Lady Wildcats have won just one game each of the past two seasons. Both of those wins came at the expense of Union County.
The new coach will be tasked with rebuilding a program that, unlike some other schools in the region, does not field a middle school team. Trigg’s roster numbers have also declined in the past two seasons.
Wilder said the position would be posted for anyone interested.
