Seven former Caldwell County Tigers are on college baseball rosters as schools battle the wintry weather to get their 2021 seasons underway.

The season has already begun for a pair of former Tigers.

Noah Brown is a sophomore infielder at Asbury College, where the Eagles are off to a 4-0 start after Tuesday’s 13-5 win over Lindsey Wilson College. That Lindsey Wilson team also includes former Lyon County standout Gabe Board.

Former Tiger Cody Holub is a freshman middle infielder at Kentucky Christian University. The Knights are 0-2 after a pair of losses to Saint Xavier University last Saturday.

Caldwell grad Bryce Thomas is a junior infielder at Northern Kentucky University after spending two years at Rend Lake. The Norse open their season next weekend, Feb. 19-20, at East Tennessee State in Johnson City, Tennessee

Former Tiger Shane Burns is a sophomore pitcher at Murray State University. The Racers are also scheduled to begin the season next weekend with four games at Lipscomb University in Nashville Feb. 19-21.

Another former Tiger, John Davis, is a sophomore infielder and pitcher at Midway University. Midway was scheduled to open its season this weekend but games on Friday and Saturday have already been canceled. The Eagles are now slated to open at home next Wednesday, Feb. 17, against Union College. Midway is coached by another former Tiger, Luther Bramblett.

A pair of former Tigers are at Rend Lake College in Ina, Illinois. The college season is not scheduled to begin for Jase Felker and Gabe East until Wednesday, March 3, against St. Charles Community College. Felker is a sophomore infielder while East is a freshman pitcher.

All college players were granted an extra year of eligibility after COVID-19 wiped out most of the 2020 spring season.
