Trigg County was able to get in only one of its scheduled preseason baseball scrimmages with bad weather canceling Thursday’s contest with Graves County.
On Monday, the Wildcats traveled to McLean County and picked up a 10-2 win over the Cougars.
Jay Humphries had three hits and drove in three runs for the Wildcats as part of their 10-hit attack. Dallas Ahart also had a pair of hits and two RBIs, and Joe Peca and Trevor Terrell each scored three times.
Trigg threw eight different pitchers for an inning each. Aaron DeSpain, Trevor Terrell, and Dallas Ahart each struck out two.
Wildcat pitchers combined to allow just three hits and struck out 10 McLean batters.
Trigg County will open its 2021 baseball season Tuesday at home against Muhlenberg County.
