Trigg County senior JaQuellus Martin posted a pair of individual runner-up finishes and took part in three relay events to help the Wildcats to an 8th-place finish at Saturday’s Coach Johnson Memorial Classic at Fort Campbell.
Martin ran 2nd to Fort Knox’s Malik Blunt in both the 100 and 200M races, with times of 11.32 and 22.65. He also joined Kelsey Parham, Peyton Williams, and Ryan Simpson to finish 4th in the 4×200 Relay with a time of 1:37.10. Martin, Parham, Williams, and Joseph Crawford ran 6th in the 4×100 Relay, and Austin Cavanaugh, Matthew Reeves, Simpson, and Martin were also 6th in the 4×400.
Simpson ran 3rd in the 400M with a time of 54.60 and 12th in the 200M. Parham was 19th in the 100M, and Williams was 24th in the 100M and 25th in the 200M. Reeves was 19th in the 400M and helped the 4x800M Relay team to a 5th-place 9:29.00 along with Riley Thompson, Marshall Jenkins, and Cavanaugh.
Cavanaugh was 6th in the 800M and Jenkins finished 9th, while Cavanaugh ran 7th and Jenkins was 15th in the 1600M. Jenkins was also 15th in the 3200M. Thompson finished 12th in the 3200M, 13th in the 800M, and 17th in the 1600M.
Crawford came in 14th in both the Long Jump and Triple Jump, while Mac Alexander was 13th in the Discus and 20th in the Shot Put. Jack Lingenfelter finished 19th in the Discus and 22nd in the Shot.
