VIDEO – Warriors Drop Region Tourney Game to Bethel

Heritage Christian Academy fell to Bethel 60-53 in the semifinals of the KCAA Region One Tournament Friday in Glasgow. Bethel went on to upset Oak Ridge 64-62 in overtime Saturday to claim the region title.

HCA was doomed with another slow start as Bethel led 16-10 after one quarter and extended it to 36-23 at halftime. The Warriors tried to rally in the second half, outscoring Bethel 18-13 in the fourth quarter before falling by seven. It was HCA’s third loss to Bethel this season.

Dalton Folz led HCA with 22 points, while Gavin Fowler added 21 points. Rajah Mills scored five points.

Fowler was named to the all-tournament team for this performance.

Heritage Christian (12-16) will be the #11 seed in the KCAA State Tournament that begins this week. The Warriors will play at #6 seed Somerset Christian Tuesday. HCA dropped a pair of games to Somerset by scores of 76-61 and 74-63 this season. Somerset finished 7-4 in KCAA play and lost to Trinity 61-54 in the Fourth Region championship game.
