The threat of bad weather was not the only storm the Caldwell County Lady Tigers soccer team had to deal with Monday evening. The defending region champion Henderson County Lady Colonels rolled into the Butler Stadium and created a “bad storm” of their own, rolling past the Caldwell County Lady Tigers 10-0 in a contest shortened by the mercy rule.

Henderson County, like lightning, “struck” quickly Monday evening, scoring four goals in the first 15 minutes of the contest. The Lady Colonels extended their lead to 6-0 by the half.

In the second half, nothing changed for Henderson County, as they “stormed” their way to four goals in the first 23 minutes of the second half to end the game at 10-0.

Several players had big nights for Henderson County, with Maddie Griggs leading the way with 4 goals, while Cecilia Palummo added two.

The loss drops Caldwell County to 1-4 on the season. They return to action Thursday night, when they host the Trigg County Lady Wildcats.
