Perry’s Big Day Gives Lyon County Tourney Wins

Lyon County’s Middle School basketball teams swept first place for the second consecutive year at the Christian County Modern Woodmen Middle School Classic Saturday.

The seventh graders beat Webster County, Hopkinsville, and Christian County to win first place.

The eighth graders knocked off Hopkinsville and Christian County for the title. Seventh grader Travis Perry, who has been named a top-five player nationally in the Class of 2024 by several recruiting services, scored 36 points (16 field goals and four free throws) in their win over Christian County.

In the win over Hopkinsville, Perry scored 42 points (14 field goals and 13-of-16 FTS), and Brody Shoulders added 16 points.
